The World Cancer Day is the single global initiative that unites and rallies the world’s voices to raise awareness of cancer in a positive and inspiring way. It will provide a new focus on global equity gap in access to cancer services at both a national and global level.
World Cancer Day 2018 will be especially momentous as the recent adoption of the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals combined with this year’s Cancer Resolution by the member states of the World Health Organization will strengthen the world’s focus on health. The day also provides is a chance for people all over the world to take action and spur forward progress in the fight against cancer.
The UICC will be developing content for global, national, and local media networks with the help of a group of world cancer leaders and health professionals to take stock of where we are in the fight against cancer and to discuss what we can do to improve cancer survival and quality of care for everyone.
